What to expect if you visit

The best place to check us out and get to know more about us is at one of our Sunday morning worship services. When we get together our church celebrates a time of worshipping God and discovering his plan for our lives.

We meet at 10:00 am at 702 Stanley Street. You’ll need to enter on Silica Street – that’s our main entrance. ( Directions )

We are Family!

One of our strongest values as a church is being a whole family. Our gatherings are not only multigenerational, but inclusive of everyone. You are welcome here! Bring your children, bring your friends, bring yourself!

Got Kids?

There are lots of kids here, so we offer a separate teaching time for them during the adult teaching time. The kids are dismissed about halfway through the worship service, and are upstairs in age appropriate classes. You are welcome to go with your children to see where they are being taught, and to meet our “Safe Place” trained teachers and helpers. We also have a specific Children’s Welcomer (and traffic controller!) who can assist you.

Youth, anyone?

We have a thriving youth ministry  and want to help you in raising your young adult. We will help get them connected with a youth leader and give them a specific invite to our midweek youth programs.

Uh, nope. No kids.

No problem. Maybe you’re here as a single adult working or a young adult going to college. You’re not alone, though you might feel like it at first! We have a young adults group that meets here regularly. Maybe you’re an empty nester. We have small groups for you and there regular times for gathering and building relationships. We also offer meals after church with families in our church so you get a chance to know them and they get a chance to see how incredible you are.

I’m, uh, “seasoned.”

As pastor Arden (and he is really ancient) will say, “If you can still fog a mirror, God still has a plan for your life.” Nobody gets to a point where they cannot be used by God if they let him. Our task as followers of Jesus is to seek first after Him and let everything else take second place. At Nelson Covenant Church you’ll find others walking a similar journey as you are, empty nesters, grandparents, great-grandparents, those who are caring for or have lost a spouse, those who have experienced divorce, those who don’t share the same faith as their spouse – whatever your life situation, you will find a family here. Our family is a place where we want to include you and invite you to learn and grow in your faith. We love Jesus and we love you.

I’m hurting.

This world has a way of breaking us. We understand that. Relationships are crumbling, addictions are overwhelming, parenting has never been harder, loneliness is rampant – the pressures of this world combined with an enemy (named Satan) who wants to see us crushed means we live in a world that has never needed Jesus more. We want you to hear this first – Jesus is the answer. He loves you and he wants to take that which is broken and build something new. We want to help you on that journey. Do we have all the answers? Hardly. We’re all broken, too. But as we reach out to one another, pray for one another and support one another and lean into Jesus, we come to better understand that in him and through him is life abundant and eternal.

Our music is focused on God rather than performance. Our teaching is biblical and relevant. Our time together is a beginning point for deeper relationships. We want you to come and experience a time of care and safety as you discover for yourself who Jesus is and how he can change your life forever.
